Orphan Black is BACK!!!!!

I am torn with emotion! I am glad that the series is back! We get to find out more of the puzzle that is Orphan Black, but I find I am frustrated the more I watch. Questions just lead to more questions and non-answers. Monitors are not monitors, friends are not friends, or are they? New characters come in, new deaths occur, old characters return from the dead. Such a tangled web of a story.

A Bravo goes to the writers!!! I am a detail oriented person. Worked as script supervisor a few times on small local films (I'm even on IMDB-how cool is that!?) Last years season was great. The writers are telling a complex story but this season it is even more complex and even better! Not once have I noticed a flaw in the connections or wondered why a character didn't just do "such and such" to get the desired outcome. This story is beyond well weaved. Details are not missed. It is believable, even to a hard to please continuity person! A personal favourite moment from S02E02 was when Fe brings in and hands out the burner phones. I love that the act of giving them out was included in the story line. It's a little thing that could easily be cut out to save time and it doesn't move the plot along necessarily, but it made the plot more realistic. Most shows I've seen refer to burners but you never see how they get them, or when. This small detail was, I think, brilliant.

Toronto Zoo Bird House  The new locations this season are varied and rich in texture. And because I worked on those local
film projects I mentioned  I understand the diversity brings in way more work for the production team as a whole. But it is wonderfully done! This season so far, two episodes in, we have moved from city and suburbs to include farm land, seedy motel rooms, hidden villas and secret laboratories. The producing of this show is a big deal to the city and surrounding area of Toronto where it is shot. There are so many beautiful places there both old and new that I'm sure the locations people are having a blast just finding locations to film at. Well, it's probably a lot of work too. But keep up the great work locations team, some of us are really enjoying what your finding!

As far as the story lines go so far I am finding it hard to know who
Sarah can trust. Though I'm glad she will always have crazy old Fe by her side. I feel for Alison, especially at the end of the second episode. Who does she have to trust!? Can she trust the other clones? The fact that she has children are complicating things for her, and as a Mom that pulls on my heart. Cosima's situation makes me feel like she is getting herself into a trap.    And what is up with this Rachel chic!? She's professional, distant, a control freak, and a clone. That means she is also property. So is there a girl inside there wishing to be freed or is she part of the hierarchy that wants full control of all the clones as property. In other words, is she fully invested in the vision of Leekie and Neolution? I get the feeling we won't find that out until close to the end of this season.

So! lots more stuff to find out, lots more questions to be asked. I'm ready and willing to go on this adventure with Sarah, Fe and Kira, what ever the outcome. My only happy thought right now, is I'm glad Joss Whedon or Steven Moffat are not part of the production team, cuz if either of them were Fe would be dead by now or the show already cancelled, hehe.

Orphan Black: (Ep110) "Endless Forms Most Beautiful"

Season Finale!

I called it on three things.
Mrs. C is from Sarah's past, and a possible rouge scientist.
We already saw that Paul is on Sarah's side, and now we find out that  Donnie, Alison's husband indeed was and still IS the monitor! I knew he would be a problem!

Unfortunately the season ended without any real commitment from Vic or Art as to weather they will be help for the Sarah's. I'm still guess they will be....wait, I'm guessing Vic will actually still remain a trouble maker and somehow become a pawn for the Neolutionists.

Glad to see the three ladies back in the same room again. Fe the ever gracious host!

So Cosima is sick...a flaw in the DNA. A respiratory illness. But she can't seem to bring herself to tell anyone. Not until she lets Delphine back into her heart and works to solve the problem of the Sarah's genome. And they do! Solve it! Together they solve the code and find out that they.....
I'm not giving THAT away! I've given spoilers already here, but this one. The one that ends the season and is the whole reason for season two...I'm not giving that away. You will have to watch that yourself.

 http://www.space.ca

Currently you can watch the entire series on Space.

So Fe, and Sarah get arrested.Kira goes missing. So is Mrs. S...and according to the other blogs out there, their mystery will be revealed in the debut of the second season.
Alison kills who she thought was her monitor....Whoops!

Oh, and Helena! And the birth Mum! well, you just gotta see that! but I bet you can guess what happens there.

And a Proclone is brought in, Rachel Duncan...again about the same age as the others. Who is she to
the group? Why is she working with "them"? Was she the first, cuz she looks the same age as the others? Is she a clone-bot like Sarah remarked?

And just cuz he's SUCH a good character I'm leaving you with this image...
Ta ta until next season!

Warehouse 13

How did I not know about this show until recently?!!?
And how did I not watch it until today!!??

S04 E13 The Big Snag
Excellent!
The acting feels a tad cheesy, which gives it a bit of a charm. This particular episode had two characters
, Pete and Myka somehow trapped in an unwritten novel. A noir crime novel, which turned into a murder mystery.

The whole thing had a certain feel to it. Like Captain Picard, Data, and Beverly were trapped in a black and white crime novel on the
Holodeck. There but not. And don't forget the Holodeck malfunction that some how turns the safety off, so now the possibility of death is real. Loved that stuff. So today I found this episode and its was much like that old TNG stuff. Fun! (Of course, all the novel characters are surprised when the Dame is smarter then they expect!)

Second half of the show had two conspiring to get the third off his butt and back to work after a
colleague was killed (by him?) They succeed, but are unprepared for his lapse in good judgement that jeopardizes his own life a couple times.
The thing they were chasing down was an artifact that could make cars disappear through walls. Turns out to be gloves from a once famous stunt driver. The effects were kinda cool. Again a cheesy kinda vibe to the whole thing. But I love the Cheesy.

I plan on going back and starting from the beginning...I hate this dropping into the end of and ongoing show. I've missed four seasons...time to correct that while some of my other shows are finished for the summer.

Orphan Black: (Ep108) "Entangled Banks"

Well "Oly Stink!
First off I can hardly get over the ending of this episode!

Ok, now that's off my chest let's look at the plot development!

Paul is in a new position. In control. He's found out the reals of Olivier and since he is laid up, Paul's telling him what's what! The goal is to protect Sarah. Not very sure Sarah knows what he is actually up to. Not sure Paul realizes just how dangerously close he is to getting himself caught, or Sarah for that matter!
Sarah has gotten everyone in a mess now! And it only seems to tighten and choke everyone with every turn.

There is no more going back to being Beth. That con has run its
course. That is, until Art kept calling.  One last encounter with Art probably has Beth caught now. That we'll most likely see next week. Not very "cop" of her to forget about not leaving finger prints!

But Art's on to Fe too! Poor boy doesn't yet realize how entangled he's gotten himself! He has most likely completely forgotten about calling Art before Sarah and Paul returned from being held captive by Olivier. Now with the police on to him I think he's going to be up on possible murder charges. It does look a bit creepy having those paintings of her laying about the flat.

Cosima is in over her head and soon to be drown! Now that Leekie knows she has had contact with
several others there is sure to be some 'splainin' to do! Of course, that means miss Delphine will either have to 'fess up, or hide that she is the spy. I'm glad to see Delphine a little more fleshed out as far as character goes. The first impression I had of her was just a puppet of Dr. Leekie, now I'm  sure she is, but now there is a connection between Cosima and Delphine that I suspect she will not remain as only that.

I just love how Alison has completely fallen apart. It was obvious that she was too tightly wound in the
first place. Now that she is unraveling personally it will be fun to see how Tatiana Maslany keeps true to Alison's persona while still negotiation the change in her personal life and not making he too much like Sarah.

So, the secret is out to Mrs. C and I am personally glad for it. There was just too much secretiveness. Of course Mrs. C realizes that she has met Alison before! Funny bit that! I like the personal touch the writers have allowed between Sarah and Alison in this scene. Where Alison compliments Mrs. C for being such a good mother and Sarah for having it all together. But in truth they both are hot messes, and both are just as blessed.

Helena is just SO creepy! And Tatiana plays it so well!
Eating sugar, rolling around on the floor
repeating the words Kira wrote to her mommy, smelling the jacket. All of it creates such a disturbing picture of the mind of Helena. Of course she goes after Kira. But I was not expecting the ending at all. The touching scene where Kira asks Helena what happened to her, and with tears in her eyes Helena can not give fathom an answer.
The hug is so sweet. Only a child could be so innocent and tender to such a deviant as Helena. It gave us the views a glimpse into Helena. It shows that even she realizes there is something wrong with her. The revelation is too much. She allows Kira to go back home. But the accident that occurs in front of both Sarah and Helena just may have shaken Helena more then we can guess. We shall see next week I guess.

Orphan Black: (Ep107) "Parts Developed in an Unusual Manner" *Spoilers*

Ok, so here's the I told you so....Paul is on "our" side.
He's a soldier doing a covert mission. Under pressure he didn't crack, although for a second there he gave us cause to worry. I'm pretty sure Sarah has a new puppy in him the way he would lean on her as she confronted Olivier. Something tells me by his physical response to her being there that he sees her as the strong one.

I liked that we see more of Olivier this episode. That guy is creepy! Nice job on the CG, or
prothesis...how ever they made that thing on him... ick!

Enter Helena again! This time we see her in a different light. We see
her abuser and his control over her. Her fear and yet love for him. She is smart, but socially awkward.

I especially loved how she asked
Sarah to "do lunch" like a normal person, but the second we see her actually eating it's obvious she never really learned how to eat in public. She is intrigued by Sarah over and above the obsession to kill the "its" that look like her. Somehow she makes her way again into the life of Sarah, this time her home (or should I say Beth's home). She eats what she finds, again, and smells things like a dog. It is obvious she has lived a strange life, probably making her a perfect tool in the hands of Thomas to kill off the other Sarah's.  It becomes an even stranger entanglement between Sarah and Helena when Sarah calls her for help and Helena rescues her.

Bravo to Fe this week for not only staying by Sarah but for stepping out into the danger zone a bit
deeper by entering Club Neolution and following Paul. In the scene where they are visiting Mrs C. You can see in his face not only the concern for how deep Sarah has gotten in the whole Clone thing, but also the realization of just how deep she is hits him when Sarah and
Mrs. C start talking and finally bonding over the past and how Sarah came to be in Mrs. C's care; which takes Mrs. C off the list of possible suspected cover-uppers. The sneak peeks at the end are so well done that I can hardly wait to see what happens, which way Mrs. C bends when she is let into the revelation.

And lastly there is Art. His new partner may be a bit of a problem in the near future but thankfully Art is onto some unexplainable stuff that all ties to Beth/Sarah. With the facial recognition and the new finger print run coming up looking like Beth I'm sure he is beginning to feel bewildered and betrayed. His side of this storey should be messy, confused at first but in the end I bet Art will be the best chance the Sarah's have at putting a stop to Helena but also the whole underground illegal cloning thing world wide.

Closing shot is of Helena dancing at Club Neolution with everyone....That has got to be one of the creepiest closing shots I have seen. It shows that she is one psychotic mess.

Orphan Black: (Ep105) " Conditions of Existence" *Spoilers*

(Thomas! who the heck?!!) First 40 seconds both creeped me out and gave reason to further the show. Though I'm not sure why the directors and editors put that short forgettable clip right at the front of the episode. The recap from previous shows seemed to flow into it well, but why didn't it get hooked on to the last episode? It had nothing to do with this weeks episode and like I said, it was forgettable. Simply because this show can be so intense and so much happens in each episode. The reason I remembered was because I wrote down the guys name on this very page while watching. I bet more people forgot it then remembered.

Oly Stink! Am I going to be saying that for every episode!!!??

A dream turns out to be reality is what starts Sarah on a hunt for information. Has Paul been watching her?  Sarah is always fast on her feet and manages to spy on Paul which gives her and Fe all the info they need. Obviously Sarah was tested during the night, which means Paul had to know, and let them in! But why? Meanwhile Alison is now wigged out by the idea of Paul being a spy and is beginning to suspect her husband is watching her. Now we see why she is so uptight and paranoid with her kids.

Welcome back nine finger Vic! I loved the little quick almost comical line Vic breaths just after screaming his head off, "I'm good". He might just end up being a reluctant hero by the end of all this. I liked the chance encounter with Alison in the parking lot. Finally her paranoia pays off as she protects herself and her kids from "Vic the Dick".

I'm thinking that some of the people that are external threats right now, like Vic, Art and Paul could eventually turn into a source of help for these women. I predict that Alison's husband will not be a help, but will end up becoming a bigger threat. What she is going to do with her kids when that happens will be a great source of anguish for her. They will probably go to her mothers or something typical.

Cosima is quietly going about her work at school slipping in samples for herself and the "Sarah's". Until she see someone is possibly watching her. As a good investigative scientist she heads straight to the obvious to dissect and weed out the non-possibilities.

Kira. Such a great little actress Skyler Wexler is! She plays an intuitive young girl, biological daughter of Sarah.Yet all the other clones can't have children, so that is the first thing that makes Kira special. Did anyone else wonder if Kira is just another , but younger clone like I did!?!? She's now in danger for sure. The big question surrounding her now, is Mrs. C a good guy or a bad guy? Will she really protect Kira or give her up to the clone makers eventually?
It so far seems like Sarah was not being handled with her "in the system" when Mrs C took her in. Or is that just a lie too?! Is Mrs. C the handler who ran away to Canada to get away from the clone makers long ago, sacrificing everything for Sarah's life? Cuz, where is Mr. C? There are so many possibilities.

This is the mid way mark for the series already. Of course the end of the short Season 1 will be a cliff-hanger. I just hope some of these questions I have will be answered and we will have new questions. Nothing worse then having questions that never get resolved. That would be LOST all over again.

Doctor Who (Ep 710) Journey to the Center of the TARDIS *Spoilers*

Well Whovians! I don't know about you, but I liked this episode much better than Cold War!  I'm giving this episode a nine out of Ten.

I liked the little things. The Fracture in Time. Brings back memories of The Ponds. The leaking of
recent history, and possibly near future. The small voices that escaped out of bottles and out of the hub of the TARDIS when being dismantled.

How Clara can read a book about The Time Wars is a tad confusing. If in the TARDIS long enough it allows your brain to instantly translate the things you hear. Does that mean you can read other languages too?

I loved seeing the heart of the TARDIS. I love how Doctor describes what she did to protect them. His description of her anger. TARDIS might be machine but she most definitely has a soul. She was able to think first of her companions and protect them from harm. She was also able to think of the future should one of the Brothers get away with even one of her transistors! And that TREE! I found it
gorgeous, even if it did harken to the Tree of life in Avatar.

Question....how did the brothers change but Doctor and Clara did not at the same time? Odd!

The Doctor satisfies his curiosity, finally! He, at the thought of death bites the bullet and comes out and point blank asks Clara about her other lives. Both lives in which it is his fault she died, he admits.  The Doctor's reaction to realizing the truth is fun.

Oh! and who can forget the amazing Time Lord ingenuity! The power source of the TARDIS, is not from the Gas which leaked out from the top of the machine when pulled in. Nor is it from the gas pipes that shot through the walls, narrowly missing The Doctor and Clara. No, it's from something completely different, and amazing!
